SUMMARY: Tiverton Balloon Festival 2011

On my arrival at Hartnoll farm, venue of the 1st Tiverton Hot Air Balloon Festival on the first day it looked rather like any other field in Devon. That said it did also look like being in the back of beyond. I drew my assumptions and took faith in my rather dated Satnav that; I was in the right place.

New for 2011 – Northern Ireland Hot Air Balloon Festival!

Lisburn will be hosting the first ever three-day international hot air balloon festival in Northern Ireland on August 27th – 29th. Just outside Belfast, the Northern Ireland Hot Air Balloon Festival will host up to 30 balloons, with lots going on over the weekend for all the family. Highlights include morning and evening mass balloon ascents, tethering, public interaction sessions and hot air balloon ‘Night Glows’. There will also be a fun fair, live music throughout the day and a delicious artisan food festival.

The festival will be held at Moira Demesne, a large public park approx. 10 miles outside Lisburn and over 10,000 people are expected to attend over the three days. Tickets are £10 per adult and children under 16 are free of charge (when accompanied by an adult).

The Westcountry’s longest running Balloon Fiesta is back for 2011!

Tiverton Hot Air Balloon Festival

If you find yourself looking skyward and gazing longingly at the sight of a hot air balloon, you will be delighted to learn of a festival of ballooning this spring in Mid Devon. The long-awaited Tiverton Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place on 20th, 21st and 22nd May 2011 at Hartnoll Farm, Tiverton, just 10 minutes from Junction 27 of the M5, on the site of the Mid Devon Show. This fantastic visual spectacle will raise funds for two well-known charities; BBC Radio Devon’s Air Ambulance Appeal in aid of Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) and Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

The weekend will be an awe-inspiring display of colour with more than 50 balloons expected to take to the skies. As well as the opportunity for visitors to view the balloons close up and meet the pilots, tickets are also available for balloon rides. With far-reaching views stretching across the beautiful Devon countryside, it is little wonder that these rides are described as “spell-binding” and “magical”. There will be plenty to see and do for families and visitors throughout the weekend, with catering for all tastes, bars, music, activities for children and a picnic area. The evening entertainment on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st will be a spectacular vision provided by “Night Glow”, where hot air balloons will give a stunning light display, all choreographed to music.

Tavistock Balloon Festival 2010

We’re proud to announce we’ll be taking part in this years return of the famous Westcountry Hot Air Balloon Fiesta held on the first weekend of September.

The event is in a new location just by the main college of Tavistock and, to date, has over 30 confirmed balloonists attending with their individual balloons. As the only commercial balloon rides business at the event we’ll both be selling balloon rides at the festival as well as conducting two flights during every flyable slot.
