The Balloon Flight

CAA Certified

A commercial passenger flight in a Hot Air Balloon is viewed by the Civil Aviation Authority as no different with regard regulations, safety, insurance and licensing than those required by the airline flying you on your holidays. Aerosaurus Balloons are licensed and regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority under Air Operators certificate number BL209, and all of our pilots hold full commercial pilots licence.

One of our 5 man balloonsAerosaurus are founder members of the British Association of Balloon Operators whose principle objective is improving safety and professionalism within the industry. The company's Operations Manager was Chairman of this association for several years and has worked closely with the Civil Aviation Authority developing and progressing safety within the ballooning public transport industry.

Aerosaurus Balloons operate within the Terms and Conditions as laid down by the Office of Fair Trading regarding Public Transport with the Hot Air Balloon Industry, approval number: CA/WCT/C/FH/118/96.

Owing to Hot Air Ballooning being very weather dependent we try to counteract this problem by providing maximum flexibility for our passengers. Aerosaurus provide a full time, 7 days a week service, have several hot air balloons varying in size from 2 passengers upwards and have balloon flights daily from launch sites in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset or Wiltshire.
