East and Mid Devon is where life is enjoyed at a leisurely pace, with many areas of outstanding natural beauty, unspoiled countryside and charming towns & villages with a wealth of history stretched over beautiful hills and valleys.

With balloon flights over East Devon you could see the Wooded Combes, vast areas of heathland and breath-taking cliffs and hilltops all from the view of the balloon basket. East Devon also has a section of the stunning Jurassic Coast World Heritage site and the unspoiled Axe Valley, hidden in the South East corner of the county. Frequently this can be seen from our Devon balloon ride locations.

Mid Devon is Devonshire’s heartland and covers an area of 353 square miles between Dartmoor & Exmoor. For flights over Mid Devon you could see the striking Blackdown Hills with the major river valleys of Otter, Exe, Culm & Yarty. Famous landmarks include the Wellington Monument, Castle Neroche and Hembury Hill Fort to name but a view.

Our Mid-Devon Launch sites are easily accessible from all parts of Devon, Residents and Visitors to the North Devon areas such as Croyde, Woolacombe, Saunton, Ilfracombe, Braunton, Barnstaple and South Molton will find our Tiverton meeting point conveniently placed on the A361 North Devon Link Road and Umberleigh, Chulmleigh, Lapford and Crediton residents follow the A377 to our Exeter launch sites. Okehampton and the surrounding villages have the benefit of being equidistant to our Launceston and Exeter meeting locations.

Balloon Flights in Mid and East Devon could take you over numerous towns and villages including the major populated areas of:

Exeter: The capital of Devon and a vibrant city famous for its culture. Rich in heritage it is a magnificent Cathedral city with a historic quayside.

Honiton: With a history of fine lace and today a town famous for its antiques, furniture and art.

Tiverton: Founded early in the Saxon settlement, situated on the River Exe and the River Lowman. A busy market town and the home of Tiverton Castle dating back to 1106. Read more about Balloon Rides over Tiverton.

Crediton: A historic market town, where farming has traditionally been a huge influence due to the mass of fertile red land it lies on. Crediton is surrounded by rolling hills and winding rivers with a fascinating wealth of history and folklore.

Cullompton: Situated along the valley of the River Culm it is famous for its working paper mills and textile industry which dates back to the late 1700’s.
