To check Flight Availability all you need to do is chose your meeting location, and whether you want to fly in the morning or evening, and then you just click on ‘Check Availability’. Within seconds you’ll get real time information on flights with spaces still left on them.

Alternatively for customers with out Internet access you can call the office on 01404-823102 and speak to one of our team members who will read you out the flight dates and book you on your chosen selection.

Once passengers have chosen their date/dates we send them a handy little confirmation postcard via email or post for their own records.

This annual event celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and it’s looking better than ever! Held at Ashton Court from the 7th to the 10th of August over 130 balloons will be attending the 4 day event.

The fiesta is the second largest annual hot air balloon festival in the world. Spectacular balloons of all shapes and sizes attend every year to a crowd of over half a million during the four days. This year make sure you’re there on Thursday the 7th for the mass assent of the special shaped balloons, this will commence from 6PM onwards and will feature balloons from all four continents.

The Red Arrows will also be making a display at the event. The 9 highly skilled R.A.F pilots will take to the skies on the Sunday (10th August) at 4PM onwards for a display guaranteed to amaze both the young and the old.

As per normal expect to spot balloons throughout the skies of Bristol. Entry to the event is free, official parking however must be brought in advance, if you wish to park at the event then book now to be in with a chance of winning return tickets with Continental Airlines to New York, in the U.S.A.

A C of A has to be carried out on a balloon every year or 100 hours it is in the sky. This check is very important and helps to ensure that hot air ballooning is kept as one of the safest air sports out there!

Dave inspected both Hugh Stewart’s and Mandy Dickinson’s balloons throughout the afternoon for any problems/weaknesses that may have occurred since their last check. Hugh a private pilot got both of his envelopes, a 77,000 and a 90,000 cubic feet envelope inspected  as well as his basket. Whilst Mandy (an Aerosaurus pilot) got her balloon checked out as well.

Both balloons passed for another year and we congratulate both Hugh and Mandy for keeping their balloons up to the European Aviation Safety Agency high standards.

We are pleased to welcome our newest commercial pilot, John Dee Shapland. After flying in Dubai for the last two ballooning seasons and with a wealth of over 20 years of being a hot air balloon pilot we are proud to welcome him to the team.

Dee Shapland will be flying in the Cornwall and Devon area to ease the workload for the other pilot’s in these areas. To mark the event he flew an hour and a half private/exclusive balloon flight over Exeter and Cullompton this morning.

The first flight for our new 317 (317,000 cubic feet envelope) happened this week on Tuesday the 22nd of July in the evening.

Piloted by Athur Street (Operations Manager/Chief Pilot) it took of from the Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park (one of our flight meeting locations) and then flew for over an hour arround Chard and Somerset.

The balloon will be used to provide champagne hot air balloon flights in the Devon and Cornwall area at our standard flight meeting locations as well as Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. Before it was scheduled for exclusive flights we wanted to thoroughly test it however and make modifications. Now with a new camera line attached to take In-Flight Photos with, it is ready.

The balloon was tested and inflated by Charlie Street, a trainee pilot sponsored and trained by Aerosaurus Balloons. Charlie will be flying the balloon alongside commercial pilots Arthur, Mandy and Colin.

Due to a increase in demand together with the need to constantly be keeping the fleet up to date, Aerosaurus Balloons have taken delivery of a additional 317,000 cubic foot, 16 passenger, Hot Air Balloon, Registration G-CFFL.

The balloon’s basket was made in Spain by Ultramagic, the burners in Italy by Bonanno and the envelope was made a bit closer to home, at Oswestry in Shropshire, by Lindstrad Hot Air Balloons. These companies were choosen as the major component suppliers owing to their worldwide reputations for high standards and quality.

Subject to final post delivery checks the balloon will have its maiden test flight within the next 2 weeks and then will go into service operating from sites in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset.

The main pilots will be Mandy Dickinson and Arthur Street who together have over 40 years experience worldwide of flying big balloons.

Operating 7 days a week, 2 flights per balloon per day this latest addition to the fleet increases Aerosaurus Balloons capacity to 81 passengers who can take to the skies over the Westcountry on each slot, ranging from 2 passenger exclusives to 16 passengers at a time on the daily scheduled flights.

Aerosaurus is pleased to announce a new meeting location for its Somerset flights. We shall now be scheduling a couple of flights each month taking of from the fantastic grounds of Cricket St Thomas wildlife park.

Flights go from Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park for the UK’s only ‘Safari’ Balloon Flights. Cricket St. Thomas is also where the popular TV series To the Manor Born was filmed. Flights from the grounds will give views over Chard reservoir settled in attractive woodland, Hornsbury Mill and its water garden, the medieval Forde Abbey and the spectacular Blackdown Hills.
